The KFDA-BPH (Biopharmaceutical Headquarters)¡¯s Initiatives for Encouraging Biopharmaceutical Industry

Abstract
As with the reorganization of international economic order to liberal market, the administrative function¡¯s change saying ¡°from government to governance¡±, and the necessities of government¡¯s nurturing bio-industry as the next generation¡¯s growth engines, the Korea Food and Drug Administration is being demanded not only to develop the safety management of food and drugs but also to encourage and support the relevant industry. In line with this, considering that the governmental officials¡¯ abilities of policy accomplishment decide the level of government¡¯s advancement and nation¡¯s competitiveness, establishment of their expertise and competency is an emerging task. According to these administrative circumstances changes, the KFDA-BPH (Biopharmaceutical Headquarters) has recently discussed and addressed their role re-establishment for beneficiary-wise duty performance. It covers its mission and vision looking forward to the next 10 years and created 4 driving strategies, 5 mid-term policy goals and 13 performing tasks. This article presents the headquarters¡¯ hereafter duty performing direction for becoming ¡®BPH with people¡¯s trust encouraging biopharmaceutical industry¡¯, as to say, ¡®the organization with people¡¯s trust, industry¡¯s supports, and every staff¡¯s growth¡¯.
